Structure: two bases rather than a new inn every night.

Discipline: gravel-led/all-road, with route-specific surface verification.

Gateway: driving from the Northeast can be extremely competitive; Montréal becomes the main flight gateway to compare once the actual bases are fixed.

WHY THIS TRIP EXISTS

Eastern Townships stands out for trip quality rather than headline popularity. The region supports multi-day adventure cycling, distinctive accommodation and food in a natural two-base rhythm.

DAY 1 — ARRIVAL / FIRST BASE

Arrive, build/fit bike and complete a short shakedown. If driving from the Northeast, this can be operationally much easier than an airport-bike-case trip.

DAY 2 — MODERATE ROAD/GRAVEL LOOP

Learn surfaces and local road rhythm. Finish early enough for the town/food experience to matter.

DAY 3 — FIRST FEATURE DAY

Longer route from base one. The publish version should specify the route only after current surface/closure research and match it to the recommended tyre setup.

DAY 4 — RIDE BEFORE LUNCH + TRANSFER

Short morning ride, lunch, then move to base two. This is the signature mixed-holiday day and a natural place for a food/winery/town experience if the chosen bases support it.

DAY 5 — SECOND FEATURE DAY

Different terrain/profile from the first base. Do not manufacture a harder day merely to create progression.

DAY 6 — RECOVERY / CULTURAL AFTERNOON

Short loop or rest. This is where the regional food/town proposition earns its place.

DAY 7 — FLEX / FINAL RIDE

Use the best route remaining according to conditions and fatigue. Prepare bike for drive/flight/shipping return.

DAY 8 — DEPARTURE

If flying through Montréal, preserve margin for the road/airport chain. If driving, the trip becomes significantly simpler for personal-bike travellers.

BOOKING ORDER

1. Choose the two bases.

2. Decide road/gravel mix and route surface needs.

3. Decide drive vs fly; then bring/ship/rent.

4. Book cyclist-suitable accommodation.

5. Add luggage-transfer/support only if it materially improves the structure.

6. Add food/cultural experiences around recovery/transfer time.
