A resort-based MTB week built around progression, lift-served riding and recovery — not seven consecutive maximum park days.
THE WEEK AT A GLANCE
Base: walkable Whistler Village / immediate park access for a first Bike Park trip.
Bike: rent for most first-time visitors, matched to downhill/enduro/trail use and rider ability.
Transport: Vancouver transfer first; rent a car only if it adds value beyond airport movement.
DAY 1 — VANCOUVER TO WHISTLER / SETUP
Arrive, transfer, check in and complete rental fitting/protection setup. If time allows, only a low-pressure orientation session. Do not make travel day the first major park day.
DAY 2 — SKILLS / PROGRESSION
For a rider new to lift-served parks, coaching or a structured progression session can be more valuable than chasing advanced trails. Learn park etiquette, braking, cornering and terrain selection.
DAY 3 — FULL PARK DAY
Ride within the level established on Day 2. The publish version should branch beginner/intermediate/advanced rather than publish one famous trail sequence for everyone.
DAY 4 — RECOVERY / NON-RIDER DAY
Full rest or easy valley riding. Use the resort/village/adventure proposition. This is a natural place for a carefully selected non-riding experience.
DAY 5 — FEATURE PARK DAY
Return to the park with fresher hands and confidence. Coaching can remain appropriate; a more expensive bike does not substitute for skill progression.
DAY 6 — VARIETY DAY
Choose another park zone, valley trail or different MTB format depending current operations and rider profile. Do not escalate automatically.
DAY 7 — SHORT FINAL SESSION
Ride enough to finish satisfied, not exhausted. Return rental/protection gear with margin and prepare for the Vancouver transfer.
DAY 8 — DEPARTURE
If bikes were rented in Whistler, airport logistics are substantially simpler. Personal-bike travellers need case/vehicle capacity and packing margin.
BOOKING ORDER
1. Establish rider level and desired park experience.
2. Choose bike category + rental vs personal bike.
3. Book walkable accommodation.
4. Compare Vancouver shuttle/private transfer/rental car.
5. Book lift access only when current products/dates are verified.
6. Add coaching where it improves progression.
7. Add non-rider activities around the recovery day.
