OUR DEFAULT: MOAB TOWN
For a first MTB trip, stay in or very near Moab town. Rental shops, guides, shuttles, restaurants and mechanical contingency are more valuable than choosing a remote property solely for resort amenities.
Three profiles:
Default/practical → central hotel with bike-friendly handling, parking and easy operator access.
Premium/recovery → property where pool/spa/space materially improve recovery/family experience without breaking trail logistics.
Value → clean, bike-practical lodging with parking/storage; spend savings on rental/guide/shuttle where those improve the riding.
MTB-SPECIFIC HOTEL CHECKS
Secure storage or room policy; muddy-bike policy; wash area; gear drying; repair/workspace; vehicle/bike-rack parking; early breakfast; large-case storage for personal-bike travellers.
