Products tied to Mallorca conditions
Nutrition is personal: test every product before the trip and adapt the plan to duration, intensity, heat and individual needs.
Skratch Hydration Sport Drink Mix ↗
A light-carbohydrate hydration option to compare for warm rides when water alone does not fit the plan. Start from a tested personal concentration rather than copying another rider.
Check Skratch HydrationPrecision Fuel PF 30 Gel ↗
A 30 g carbohydrate portion that can make intake easier to count on long climbs. It is a planning tool, not a universal dosage recommendation.
Check PF 30 GelLezyne Pocket Drive Pro ↗
A compact pump fallback for mountain loops and travel days. Confirm valve type and pressure needs for the exact tyre setup.
Check the Pocket Drive ProSea to Summit Lightweight Dry Bag ↗
A small dry bag keeps spare layers, electronics or wet clothing separated inside travel luggage and transfer bags.

Detailed planningRead the full guide+
Mallorca packing is less about carrying more and more about covering the difference between the coast, the mountains and the time of day. Use the forecast for your actual riding dates and routes; seasonal patterns are planning context, not guarantees.
YEAR-ROUND CORE
Helmet; shoes; eyewear; riding kit; bottles; navigation device and charging setup; personal repair kit appropriate to your bike; identification/payment; sunscreen as appropriate; and any personal nutrition you cannot easily replace. If bringing your own bicycle, add the Pedal Elsewhere Packing System and the correct reassembly tools.
SPRING
Spring can deliver excellent cycling conditions but temperature and weather can vary, particularly on long descents and at elevation. Build a layering system rather than relying on the hotel temperature.
Consider: light base layer, packable wind/rain protection appropriate to the forecast, arm/leg or knee coverage according to personal preference and conditions, full-finger or warmer gloves when indicated, and a layer that makes a long descent comfortable after a climb.
SUMMER
Heat management becomes central. Earlier starts can reduce exposure to peak heat. Prioritise hydration capacity, sun protection and clothing appropriate to the conditions. A lightweight emergency/weather layer can still be useful for exposed or higher routes when the forecast warrants it.
Do not reduce carried water simply to save weight. Plan refill opportunities rather than assuming every route has reliable services.
AUTUMN
Treat autumn similarly to spring: variable conditions and changing daylight make adaptable layers useful. Check sunset time when planning longer routes and carry lighting where appropriate to the ride and local rules.
WINTER
Shorter daylight and more variable weather increase the value of warmer layers, rain/wind protection and conservative route planning. Mountain conditions can differ materially from the coast. Check conditions rather than assuming Mallorca means warm weather everywhere.
THE DESCENT BAG
For a mountain day, decide before leaving whether you have enough protection for the descent if the summit is cooler, windier or wetter than the valley. The exact answer depends on forecast, route and rider; the principle is to plan for the coldest meaningful part of the ride, not the warmest.
IF YOU ARE RENTING
Carry the personal items that determine comfort and fit: pedals if required/allowed by the rental arrangement, shoes, helmet, preferred saddle only if the shop agrees to fit it, navigation mount if compatible, and measurements needed to reproduce your position. Confirm what the rental actually includes before packing duplicate tools or accessories.
IF YOU ARE FLYING YOUR OWN BIKE
Follow airline/security rules for batteries, tools, CO2 cartridges, aerosols and liquids. Rules can vary by carrier and jurisdiction. Do not use a generic packing list as permission to fly with a restricted item.
FIRST-RIDE RESILIENCE
Keep enough personal riding kit outside the bike case that a delayed case does not automatically end the first day. Helmet, shoes and a basic kit in normal luggage can preserve the option to rent locally if appropriate.
48-HOUR WEATHER CHECK
Two days before travel, compare the forecast for your base with the mountain areas on your priority routes. Adjust layers and route plan. Recheck on the morning of major mountain rides.

FUELLING FOR MALLORCA RIDES
DO NOT PACK A WEEK OF NUTRITION BY DEFAULT
For Mallorca, Pedal Elsewhere would bring enough familiar ride fuel to protect the first one or two important rides, then buy ordinary food and suitable cycling nutrition locally where practical. The objective is familiarity without turning luggage into a nutrition shipment.
WHAT TO BRING
Bring products you know your stomach tolerates for long/hard riding; a small buffer for the first feature day; and any unusually specific product that may be difficult to replace. Keep powders/gels organised in original or clearly identifiable packaging and check applicable airline/security/customs rules before travel.
WHAT TO BUY LOCALLY
Water, ordinary ride food and common consumables are usually better sourced after arrival when available. This reduces baggage weight and removes the temptation to fly with unnecessary liquids or bulky quantities. Identify a credible shop near the chosen base before departure rather than assuming stock.
MALLORCA-SPECIFIC DECISION
Summer/warmer trips increase the importance of hydration planning and refill opportunities. Tramuntana feature days may require more deliberate carried fuel than a short Ride Before Lunch. Match fuel and hydration quantities to ride duration, intensity and individual needs rather than prescribing a universal number of gels.
PRECISION FUEL & HYDRATION
Precision Fuel & Hydration is one useful planning comparison for a long riding day. Use its planner or products only when they fit the rider’s own fuel and hydration plan, and do not treat sports-fuelling guidance as medical advice.
SKRATCH — CONDITIONAL PRODUCT FIT
Skratch is one familiar-fuel and hydration option to compare when the product already works for the rider; do not introduce an untested product during travel.
