The universal specification checklist for any serious cycling rental.

START WITH YOUR OWN BIKE

Record the setup that already works for you. At minimum, keep your normal bike make/model/size and saddle height. If you are fit-sensitive, also record saddle setback, saddle-to-bar reach/drop, handlebar width, crank length and any other dimension that materially affects comfort.

Photograph your bike from the side and above. The goal is not to reproduce every millimetre on a different frame; it is to give the rental provider enough information to avoid a clearly unsuitable setup.

BEFORE YOU PAY — CONFIRM THE BIKE

AT COLLECTION

Do not schedule the first major ride immediately after pickup. Reproduce the important fit measurements, install confirmed contact points, inspect tyres, controls, braking and shifting, and complete a short low-risk shakedown.

If something is wrong, resolve it with the provider before leaving for a long or technical ride.

THE PRE-PAYMENT CONFIRMATION

Get the critical items in writing where possible: dates; size; model/equivalent basis; gearing; pedals/saddle arrangements; tyre specification where relevant; collection/return; total price; cancellation; damage/deposit terms; and support/replacement process.
